Hey, there it's, Michele. Welcome to episode two of New Creation Meditations. As we begin, I'd like to invite you to put on a pair of headphones, if you can, and close your eyes if you can, unless you're driving. Start out by taking a nice deep breath in and let it out. And take one more deep breath in and breathe out. Great.
Michele:So often in the church, whether people realize it or not, they are very often teaching us to hide our light, to become less than what we are. But Jesus didn't have this mindset. He said you are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden, nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, and so Jesus encourages us to let our lights shine before people. In his letter to the Philippian church, the apostle Paul encouraged the believers to shine like stars in the sky.
Michele:If you've grown up in a certain kind of church culture, this might sound completely crazy, like a total lack of humility, but God calls us to shine our lights everywhere we go. Are you shining your light or are you hiding it under a bushel or a basket? What is it that the world needs that they're not seeing from you right now? Because I guarantee that God put something in you that the rest of us need. So anywhere that's hiding, I call you forth in Jesus' name. Come forth. Come forth and shine your light. Your time of hiding is over, and if you ever feel like hiding again, I want you to come back and listen to this meditation again.
